Guided days · booking
From the form to the hotel lobby
Booking a guided day takes one form and, usually, two emails. This page covers what to send, what you get back, how late you can change things, and what happens on the morning itself.
Four steps
- 01
Send the form
On any guided-day page or the contact page. Five fields are required.
- 02
Read the plan
We reply by email with a route, clock times, the guide's working language and one price.
- 03
Confirm and pay
As set out on the quotation. Your guide and car are fixed once it is confirmed.
- 04
Meet your guide
In your hotel lobby, at the agreed time, card on show and programme in hand.
During Lunar New Year and other national holidays availability is tighter, so write early if you are travelling then.
What to put in the form
| Field | Example | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Which guided day | South and heritage day, or 'half day, not sure which' | Sets the hours and whether a car is needed |
| Date | 14 February, or 'any day 10 – 15 February' | Guides and cars are booked by date |
| How many | 2 adults, 1 child aged 9 | Decides the car size and how the guide paces the day |
| Where you stay | Hotel name and area | Pick-up outside Duong Dong, Ong Lang and Bai Truong adds road time |
| Language | English, or another language you would prefer | We check availability before quoting |
| Anything to plan around | Knee trouble on steps; vegetarian; a stop you refuse to miss | We build it into the route |
If you have not chosen a day, describe what you want from it: history, forest, markets, photographs, a quiet beach. The planning page shows what fits into four or eight hours.
Why we ask for the route before the day
Under the 2017 Law on Tourism, international and domestic guides carry the company's assignment document and the tour programme in Vietnamese while working, and they follow that programme. So we write your route down before the day. Small changes on the spot are normal: an extra coffee stop, skipping something you do not like, staying longer where you are happy. Moving the day to a different part of the island is a new programme, and we update it with you by message.

Changes and cancellations
- Route changes: tell us by 18:00 the evening before and we rewrite the programme at no cost.
- Time changes: moving the start by up to an hour is usually fine with the same notice.
- Date changes and cancellations: handled under the terms written on your quotation, which you see before you pay.
- Weather: if heavy rain or a storm makes the planned route unsafe or pointless, the guide proposes a covered alternative; if you would rather not go, we offer another date for the unused booking.
We do not sell boat trips, so sea conditions do not cancel our days. If a separate boat trip you booked elsewhere is cancelled for weather, we can often move your guided day to fill the gap.
On the day
- Your guide arrives in the lobby five to ten minutes before the agreed time and shows the guide card.
- If a car is booked, the driver waits outside; the guide introduces you.
- Bring sun protection, water if you prefer your own, closed shoes for the forest, and clothes covering shoulders and knees for pagodas and shrines.
- Carry some Vietnamese dong in small notes for tickets, drinks and stalls. A foreign-card ATM withdrawal costs about VND 40,000 in fees, so take out larger sums less often.
- If you are late or need to change the pick-up point, message the guide; the contact details are on your confirmation.

Booking for someone else
You can book a guided day for parents, friends or a group you are organising. Put your own email in the form so the quote reaches you, and add the travellers' names, ages and hotel in the notes. The guide needs the name of one person to meet in the lobby and a way to reach that person on the morning.
If something goes wrong
If your guide is ill, we send another guide with the same card type and language. If we cannot, you do not pay for that day. If the car breaks down, the driver arranges a replacement and the lost time is added at the end or refunded. If you are unhappy with something during the day, tell the guide first, then us; it is far easier to fix at 10:00 than in an email a week later.
Plan your trip
Ready to send the form?
Date, party size, four or eight hours, car or not. That is enough to start.
Common questions
Questions travellers ask most
How far ahead should we book?
A week ahead is comfortable for English-speaking guides outside holidays. For Lunar New Year, or for another language, write as early as you can.
Can we book after we arrive on the island?
Yes, if a guide is free. Send the form from your hotel; next-day bookings are often possible outside the peak weeks.
Do we get the guide's name and number before the day?
Yes. The confirmation gives the guide's name and how to reach them on the morning.
Can we change the route during the day?
Small changes, yes. A change to a different part of the island means a new programme; the guide messages us and we update it if time allows.
